Chief Executive Officer

Hello,

My name is Lauren Mendez and I am honored to be WSCA's Chief Executive Officer. Prior to beginning this position full time July 1, 2023 I was a school counselor at Olympic Middle School in the Auburn School District. WSCA has been a part of my school counseling journey since Graduate School. I previously served as the WSCA Graduate Student Representative, WSCA Treasurer, and Co-Chair of the Professional School Counselors of Color Committee. I attended the Auburn School District K-12, Pacific Lutheran University for my Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Psychology, and attended Seattle Pacific University for my Masters in Education in P-12 School Counseling. I am passionate about equity. compassion, and human dignity for students, families, and staff. My husband is an elementary school teacher, and we have two dogs (Ishmael & Bendito), three guinea pigs(Latte, Summer, & Rainbow), and a cat (Azalea). It is my joy to serve as your WSCA Chief Executive Officer.
