Chief Executive Officer

Hello,

My name is Lauren Mendez. Previous to taking over this position full time July 1, 2023 I was a school counselor at the Middle School Level for five years at Olympic Middle School in the Auburn School District. WSCA has been a part of my school counseling journey since Graduate School. I was the WSCA Graduate Student Representative, WSCA Treasurer, and Co-Chair of the Professional School Counselors of Color Committee prior to my current role. I attended Seattle Pacific University for my Masters in Education in P-12 School Counseling. I am passionate about equity. compassion, and justice for students, families, and staff. My husband is an elementary school teacher, and we have two dogs, a guinea pig, and a cat. It is my joy to serve as your WSCA Chief Executive Officer.
